This minshuku (farm-inn) called “Yamato” is run by Mr. Nanba, who works to revitalize this town for tourism. He offers you the opportunity to experience seasonal field work. Rice farming is a popular activity in which you can try driving a tractor, a combine, and a rice-planting machine. He welcomes elementary school children with open arms to these extracurricular lessons. Try other activities as well, such as creating bamboo ware with materials cut down from the back hill and cooking & eating freshly picked mushrooms along with other edible wild plants. These activities will make you feel closer to the earth.
